WHAT WE PROVIDE...

Assistance - Beacon of Hope operates a support center for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse. We have trained volunteers fielding incoming crisis call and providing assistance with obtaining safe housing, victim advocacy, court advocacy, medical and dental care, and other necessary services.

Counseling - Beacon of Hope offers individual and group counseling with a therapist at little or no cost. Counseling helps women gain control of the issues they are facing - domestic violence, problems with relationships, sexual assault and depression.

Life Skills Training - Beacon of Hope has instituted a Life Skills Training Initiative offering instruction with computers, typing, resume writing, dressing for success, mock interviews, financial budgeting and assistance with job placement.

Pet Safety - Beacon of Hope is committed to supporting the needs of women and children who have been affected by violence. The Foster Pet Program consists of volunteer host families who agree to temporarily house pets while the woman victim is getting the help she needs. This is a major barrier for victims that need to leave their violent situation.

Public Awareness - Through speaking engagements and community events, Beacon of Hope raises public awareness about violence against women and the tremendous emotional, physical and economic cost of this violence. To arrange a speaker, please call our office at (317) 731-6131.
