Survivors are facing increased risks. The demand for victim services continues to rise as the community faces the impacts of the pandemic. Victim Advocates at Beacon of Hope Crisis Center have continued to meet the needs of victims in the community despite these challenges. Purple ThursdayWear purple on October 20, 2022 to show your support for everyone impacted by domestic violence. Purple Thursday is a national day of action. This is an opportunity to raise awareness about domestic violence and support prevention efforts in the community.
In 1989 the U.S. Congress passed a law designating October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Ever since, in the month of October, we come together to mourn those who have died because of domestic violence, celebrate those who have survived, and connect those working to end domestic violence. |
